College can be the most stressful time for a student, and it is there where many emotional and mental problems such as depression, anxiety, and stress can appear. These problems cause many students to drop out of school, isolate themselves, or even think about not following up on their dreams.
An emotional support animal is not a pet but a companion that helps alleviate so much emotional burden. It also serves as a therapeutic tool because it allows people to calm down, level their stress, and raise their spirits. Emotional Support Animals (ESA) can be a dog, a cat, a parrot a rabbit etc.
Other benefits are that they help college students develop better in their social and family environment and improve academic performance and interpersonal relationships.
Emotional Support Animals for College Students could benefit from having an ESA because, at this stage of their lives, many become independent and are far from their homes, so they do not have family or friends and are adjusting to their new environments.
